On September 5, 2004, the Raleigh-Durham area began a significant transition
as Grace Church of Durham, where Kedrick
T. Lowery serves as Senior Pastor, opened its doors for the first time. A church
plant of Bishop Sheldon M. McCarter and Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church
in Winston-Salem, NC, Grace Church seeks to meet the whole person, for it is
a “Ministry With You In Mind.”
Equipped with a vision to reach all ages and ethnicities, Pastor Kedrick Lowery
employs a practical approach to the complex situations of life. An alumnus of
both North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina and Oral Roberts
University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pastor Lowery accepted the call to ministry and
was licensed to carry the gospel in 1992 under the tutelage of Bishop John L.
Hines.
Embracing a passion for youth, Pastor Lowery served at the helm of youth ministry
in multiple congregations, including a 7 - year tenure as Youth Pastor at Greater
Cleveland Avenue Christian Church where his spiritual father, Bishop Sheldon
McCarter, serves as Pastor.
In November 2003, Bishop McCarter preached the message “What Are You
Waiting For?” Convinced and convicted, Pastor Lowery spoke with Bishop
McCarter following the service. Their conversation led to a mutual agreement
that it was time for Pastor Lowery to “leave the nest.” This aggressive
approach to God’s Call laid the foundation for the formation of Grace Church
of Durham.
With clear origins in faith and leadership in constant pursuit of spiritual
excellence, Grace Church is a ministry on the cutting edge “With You In
Mind”
